I finally managed to get my commute pass on my Pasmo. I had to select a new commuter pass and insert the existing Pasmo card at the right time. It wasn't that easy to figure out.. !
Pasmo is based on FeliCa RFID technology which can be used also as a digital wallet. My Vaio even has a FeliCa port by which I suppose that I could buy stuff online.. although I doubt I'll ever charge it more than it's worth for buying train trips and a few groceries.

I also finally managed to get my new phone. I switched from DoCoMo to SoftBank because of some female pressure. Without doing much research I selected the Samsung 708SC phone for my new contract.
It's a really nice phone:

• very thin
• looks nice
• has Bluetooth
• 2MPixels camera (the old one had a 4MPix one.. on paper !)
• extra frontal camera for videochat (yeah, right !)
• can be used abroad (how much per minute ?!)
• can playback MP4 video and audio (I have to re-encode what ??)
• microSD slot, etc etc

..but I really just like the fact that it's thin and I can put it in my pocket without looking like I'm having an hard-on !
As a very nice bonus, it properly supports cookies and so I can check my GMail from the phone.. although I didn't choose the plan for big Internet users, because after all I spend most of the time in front of an actual computer !

Technology comes in small doses, but even so, I can feel it:

• I don't need to make train tickets anymore
• I can use my phone to schedule my trains
• shop doors open in front of me (some need to be touched once)
• most faucets pour water automatically
• many toilets wash my ass 8) (I should get one for home)

Nothing earth shattering, what is cool is that these things become part of the daily routine I guess.. although once it's daily routine it's not so cool anymore.. but it's still cool to me !
