Exploration Of Music
Posted October 16th, 2007 by DuddieI have never been listening to any particular genre of music however I when I start to like one song I usually try to listen to complete discography of the artists. This way in past I have discovered Sisters of Mercy, RMB and Tori Amos which became my all time favourite artists.
Recently (due to my reconvalescence period after operation) I had more time to catch up on listening to music. read more »
PC & Video Editing.. facking pain in my ass !!
Posted August 25th, 2007 by DavideOne year ago I bought a Sony camcorder, the DCR-SR100 one of the early camcorders with hard-disk (HDD) but not high definition (HD).
Back then I decided that to handle high definition video I would have needed too much of a powerful PC, not to mention an high definition TV, player and so on 8)
So I'm still in the DVD era and yet... what a facking pain in the ass it is to edit video !
I have a decent laptop, with a Core Duo T2300. I had it upgraded to 1GB of RAM but that wasn't enough so I recently went for the maximum possible: 2GB.
Still not enough. I've been trying to use Sony Vegas 7. I pretty much finished the project, the long overdue last summer in Rome, a couple of hundred of MPEG-2 clips for a total of 2 hours edited video.
So today I exported the video, then I reopened Vegas to export the audio and boom.. the project takes forever to load. In fact it doesn't load at all.. it keeps allocating memory until it crashes !!! read more »
The Things That Are Ahead Of Their Times...
Posted June 7th, 2007 by DuddieRecently I am rediscovering things that back in their times did not look so good but they fit into those days perfectly. First I found some CDs with VHS to very lousy DivX conversion of Profit TV Series from 1996. This series was very good back then but from the perspective it really shows greed and corruption of current corporate stuff even more. This series was canceled after very short filming (one season) but if this series would be done nowadays it would gather a lot of viewers. I wish I could get it somewhere on DVD because it is amazing.
Another thing I have discovered in my music collection is an album from 1993 Leila K - Carousel. Back then it was fairly popular for some of it songs. But within last 15 years the music changed and this album is even more appealing. I have fallen in love with the 7th song of the album called "Pyramid". It is just good... read more »
Tokyo Clubbers
Posted June 3rd, 2007 by DavideEven since I came to Tokyo almost 6 years ago now, I wished that there was a site that would tell me about clubs around here.
It's hard to find out what goes on in the city without some experience. It's hard to pick places to go, and one can find himself or herself, facing some surprises.. some places can be really peculiar.
Tokyo club guides for foreigners are very few, actually the only one I ever really used is Tokyo Club Guide from www.cyberjapan.tv. The site is great, but it's not necessarily very up to date and I just want to do my own thing, as usual 8)
So, I started this TokyoClubbers.com. It's very much a draft and I'm not sure how far I'll go, but it's a good way to gather some info that I may come handy to someone.
