FTP this, HTTP that, broken hardware, broken software
Posted November 5th, 2007 by DavideYesterday I removed the CPU heatsink and fan from my homeserver because the fan was making a lot of noise. I tried oiling it. It didn't really help, but now the computer is sort of screwed up, possibly because of the gfx card swap, more likely because I didn't put fresh paste between the CPU and the heatsink.
I easily moved the HTTP portion of the server to my Mac, For FTP I went for Pure-FTPd for Mac OS X. As it turns out, the GUI-enabled manager doesn't quite run on Leopard 8(
I got it to install and do first settings, but then it crashes.
I tried to fiddle with command line, but I can't even find a pre-existing pure-ftpd.conf ..nor much info on how to create one with virtual directories, etc etc.
Better luck tomorrow... kind of hoping for the GUI to get fixed 8)
