Good Woman good !
As Mr.Duddie noticed, I've scanned a few pages from the April edition of Woman magazine !
I obviously don't buy those magazines, but so it happens that I had that magazine laying around my apartment.
It's interesting how the magazine gives hints on how to dress, how to bow, where to look at, how to answer, even how to smile !
It may seem weird, but I somewhat agree with the concept of getting hints on how to behave. Everyone at one time or another doesn't realize how he or she is making a mistake. Some people stink, some have bad breath, some people have bad habits but don't realize that.
My first Japanese study text was a Doraemon booklet intended for kids to learn how to behave properly. It's a book I wish I had as a kid and a something I wish other kids (and many adults 8) around me had.
In many cases parents don't have the time or teach how to behave or just have bad manners themselves. In those cases it may help if a kid had a funny comic that taught him or her how to behave so that everyone is happy. Kids will always be rebellious, but that doesn't mean that they should be ignorant.
I guess everyone should care of his or her individuality, but at the same time it's important to live respecting people around us.
Incidentally, Konami has also recently released a DS game for girls to test their manners 8)
The title can be roughly translated as "The Good woman's development training software" (Edit: "The Good woman's development training software" is actually the prefix. The Official title I guess is "Woman's adulthood certification" [大人の女力検定], however in the advertising it actually says "Secretly (become a) Good woman with the DS" [DSで、こっそりイイ女。] )

It's a matter of scale indeed.. Taliban think that you are not a man if you shave your face, but I think we all agree that that's silly...
How much shaved hair is too much ?
Hair is not flesh. To shave is not to amputate. In the modern world, with plenty of clothes and fire to keep us warm, we don't need most hair anymore. Those on our heads are perhaps still useful, the rest are an hindrance.
I suspect that body hair is left growing simply because it takes time to shave it off, not because anyone is relying on it to do anything special.
Taking the time to shave off body hair shows an added interest in your own body, which by can seen as a feminine behavior I guess.. but so is taking showers and using deodorant 8)

Well I dont think interest in your own body can be classified as a purely female behaviour. I am sure people like mr Stallone or any other male actor take great interest in their bodies.
I meant more that if you associate small size, smooth skin and hairless body with femininity (which is what you say you like about asians compared to europeans), then shaving your body moves you in a feminine direction =)

Asians in general are thinner and have less hair. But there is really no direct relationship between genetic predisposition and willingness to shave.
Also consider this: while Asians seem to be closer to the concept of females, they also have smaller breasts on average.. but breasts are a very distinctive female feature !
