One year ago I bought a Sony camcorder, the DCR-SR100 one of the early camcorders with hard-disk (HDD) but not high definition (HD).
Back then I decided that to handle high definition video I would have needed too much of a powerful PC, not to mention an high definition TV, player and so on 8)

So I'm still in the DVD era and yet... what a facking pain in the ass it is to edit video !
I have a decent laptop, with a Core Duo T2300. I had it upgraded to 1GB of RAM but that wasn't enough so I recently went for the maximum possible: 2GB.
Still not enough. I've been trying to use Sony Vegas 7. I pretty much finished the project, the long overdue last summer in Rome, a couple of hundred of MPEG-2 clips for a total of 2 hours edited video.

So today I exported the video, then I reopened Vegas to export the audio and boom.. the project takes forever to load. In fact it doesn't load at all.. it keeps allocating memory until it crashes !!!

What a facking frustration ! ..I pretty much spent my whole Saturday around this bullshit. Eventually I had the idea to hide the source MPEG-2 clips so that when loading the project Vegas doesn't try to fucking load the whole shit in memory (it seems like it tries to do that now, for some reason !).

Before that I had to fiddle even more.. well definitely a nice day of non-work.

Now, with the source files "off line" I could open the project and export it out to other formats that hopefully some other less screwed software can handle.

Luckily Vegas is not mine.. it would have been very sad to have bought such a piece of shit !!
I mean I guess it's a great software.. until it goes nuts and you potentially lose a week worth of video editing... 8)

Today wasn't a good day.. but now comes the night 8)
..though I must say that going out in Tokyo isn't as fun anymore. One can only go listen to techno (still ?), hip-hop (yoyo !), rap (yo mf !), house (gay ahoy), bullshit... but no trance whatsoever.
The rest of the fucking world is having trance events left and right and nothing in Tokyo ?
