Pick-up the art of picking-up !

I'm known for often going clubbing and like most men I do like nice girls.
Like many men (especially programmers !) I'm fairly logical and I like to make sense of things, while not being a social champion (to put it lightly).
It's only normal then that I'm interested in things such as picking up girls !

..or am I ?!
It's a complex thing. Because instinctively I dream tons of beautiful girls, but I also don't like the idea of bullshitting women with techniques.
I would ideally like to be liked for what I am. But who am I ?

People behave differently depending on many variables. I can be myself and be totally unattractive, or I can be myself and be interesting and funny.
Using techniques to pickup a girl could be seen just a way to imprint a behavior that is more socially-sound. A structured way to try to be interesting from the first second. To buy time and get the chance to eventually reveal the real person.

Seen like that, this whole pickup artist thing that has recently gained momentum thanks to this Mr.Mystery doesn't seem so unethical anymore.

Still, I don't think I can really force myself to be a seducer (though people expect that from me because I'm Italian !). I tried in the past, and one just has to have the right character for it.. as much as I like girls, I feel very much a clown when I try to introduce myself to a stranger. Because I think it's just stupid and I don't really like to deal with strangers.
But perhaps it's also my duty to be less passive when it's time to find a partner... as I'm generally sitting and waiting for some woman to make a move, and those that make moves are not always the most normal 8P

Nonetheless I wrote a small article on nampa ("pick-up" in Japanese) on TokyoClubbers. Where I try to explain my perception of things of a specific environment (Japanese clubs for Japanese) rather than giving too much advice, as I'm most definitely not a pick-up artist or not evena pick-up artist wannabe (!).

I would like to close this update with a pretty funny video of this Mystery guy at Late Night with Conan O'Brien:

...hohoho !
